The Arbor at Port Warwick recently celebrated resident Alva Oakley’s 100th birthday with a special visit from Newport News Mayor Phillip Jones. Oakley, who has lived an adventurous life across the United States and abroad, is an active member of the community and chose to honor her milestone by encouraging donations to the American Heart Association instead of birthday gifts.
